Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How does the process Work?
Send me an email describing who or what you'd like painted and attach a photo (or a few) and we'll discuss how to best capture them. I paint the image in watercolours, send it to my framers and post/deliver it to you after using Royal Mail Services. I do not send any work-in-progress images as the painting always looks better in person.
2. Do you work from Sittings?
No, not with Mini-Portraits. I've designed these paintings to fit photos. I can however work from sittings if desired in Oil Portraits and my books for these will reopen in 2023.
3. Can the price vary from what is stated?
Yes. If the image isn't as complicated or if you are able to collect the portrait from my studio in Lisburn, I adjust the price accordingly. However, the price will never go above what I've publically quoted. And you can receive a 10% discount if you’re on my Studio Notes mailing list.
4. Can I split the cost?
Yes, We can split the payment into 3 equal instalments if you like. Payment can be through Paypal, Bank Transfer, Stripe, Cheque or cash.
5. Do you Ship Internationally?
Yes. This is an additional fee and buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
6. Do you paint Animals or other Subjects?
Yes, Mini Portraits work for animals too. I do not paint commissioned landscapes or buildings.
7. How many portraits do you do?
I limit commissioned portraits to a maximum of 2 per month and usually have a waiting list, but if there is an urgent date you need it ready for, I can generally fit it in.
8. Can I get a refund?
No. As this is a fully personalised service, I can not offer any refunds. I pride myself on the quality of these portraits and you can see a solid collection online to give you an idea of what you'll receive.
